Boris sat down with Mathieu David Blackbird for a long interview about Tears of English Town, published by Section 26.

"Sometimes even I don’t know what the tracks are about, but 'Sur Pilotis' is a song about memory—a holiday home burning down. It’s about the idea that you can’t go back to the past. I don’t necessarily aim to be autobiographical when I write; the mood of the tracks guides the lyrics. 'The End (Is On Its Way)' depicts a couple falling apart. It’s a song of light and shadow—it starts off quite straightforwardly, then takes a twist. The music already tells a story; I just have to let myself be guided. The lyrics spell out a scenario that is already there. The lyrics form the script, and the finished track is the film. 'Triangle' is, of course, about a love triangle—a character who needs to get home but gets caught in bad weather and is significantly delayed. It also evokes the anxiety of waiting."
