USA!

28th September 2026

At the label’s office and headquarters of the Parisian duo, excitement is in the air…

Chicago’s iconic label, Minty Fresh, fell in love with Discover’s new album. Without hesitation, the boss picked up the phone—completely ignoring the 7-hour time difference—to offer his collaboration, support and expertise to champion "Seventeen States" in the United States.

How could we refuse such a joint venture?

The promo material is already crossing the Atlantic as we write this post!

Melodic elegance

27th September 2026

The first review of the album, due out on October 9th. Thanks, Zicazic! [...] The record feels like a liberation—perhaps that of a band that had never truly said its last word. And this time, the story doesn’t end there; their entire back catalog is now available on all platforms, offering an ideal entry point for a new generation of listeners. "Out Of Our System" is far more than just a rediscovered album; it is a missing chapter in the William Pears story—a bridge between their indie-pop past and their reclaimed present.

It's absolutely brilliant

21st September 2026

Thank you to Persona for being the first to review the upcoming album from Discover, set for release on October 16th on vinyl and streaming platforms. [...] The record kicks off at full tilt with the gleaming "Someone"—an irresistible lead single—before continuing in fine style with "Lost Number," elevated by the trumpet work of Julien Alour and the trombone of Jerry Edwards (both of whom previously shone on Boris Maurussane’s *Tears Of English Town*).

Interview BuzzOnWeb

26th August 2026

A long interview with Boris Maurussane about his new album on BuzzOnWeb.

You called your album "Tears of English Town." Is that a bit of a cheeky move on your part, since your album isn't English?

Yes, there's a sense of displacement, and the title is a bit strange: I didn't give it a specific name, since we don't know where this "English Town" is. And besides, the song with that title has a Brazilian influence. I found it amusing to call it that. I wanted to create this feeling of not really belonging, of being a bit out of place.

Orwell

A beautifully successful trickle-down

20th August 2026

Review of the album at Froggy's Delight. [...] This new album remains true to Orwell's past work: refined pop, superb arrangements (that little xylophone there, can you hear it?), warm, with rounded edges, nothing is superfluous, everything flows smoothly. Whether it's the voice, magnificently accurate, the sumptuous melodies, the little touches here and there to enhance a chorus, or give goosebumps at just the right moment ("Searching Without Relent" and its backing vocals).
