4 stars review in Record Collector Mag : Yes, Melody Cycle (**** Folkwit), the second album from Julien Lonchamp and his seven-piece Apostrophe Ensemble as JACK AND THE’, may draw inspiration from Van Dyke Parks’ Song Cycle, and indeed the baroque and orch-pop material he produced that lends the album the overall vibe of late 60s Hollywood recording reissues on Now Sounds, but this is decidedly contemporary in scope and ambition. Fans of Elefant label acts like Giorgio Tuma and Folkwits’ own Odessey And Oracle will find plenty to savour here.
