French band Orwell will be embarking on their first ever tour of Japan this month, with a set at Rallye record label’s festival on Monday 12th October and their own headline appearance at 7th Floor on Tuesday 13th October for a longer and more exclusive performance.

Their music has been described as “airy, orchestral-pop brilliance propelled by guitars, piano, strings, brass, vocal harmonies, vibraphone and vintage electronics (Optigan, Mellotron, etc.). Richly arranged, but ever ready with the odd synth, tuba, backmasking or unexpected chord to pierce the mix.”

With a new album “Exposition Universelle” under their belt, you can expect a mix of new and old tunes from their 15-year career.

Local Tokyo band Sugar Me will be joining Orwell on the night.
