Variety Lab n'avait plus donné signe de vie depuis plusieurs mois (années?). A Fairlight for Christmas a été écrit pour fêter noël. Du coup, Hot Puma records héberge Variety Lab pour ce single, en espérant secrètement un album dans un futur proche (!?) même si le principal intéressé répond que non. Electro pop joyeuse et paroles ado geek des 80's et clip hommage aux génériques TV et pub de ces années là. Variety Lab accueille la franco-américaine Sofia Bolt pour y donner de la voix.
